Server Downtime Explanation & Compensation

Let's start off with this: we were hacked.

Our server was hacked in by bruteforce which, if you don't know allows you to enter the system blocked by a user or some kind of authentication system. We thought it was an unintentional host shutdown and that the passwords were changed when I (Willi) attempted to login onto the VPS.

But later in the day, when the admins of Maple-Hosting went in, they realized we were compromised of our website files (which were somewhat recovered but some features are outdated or not working), our database (our latest backup is when we started to use the VPS, but don't worry more information at the end), and the server files (which we can recover).

As with our database being taken away, this is a big step backwards. Your account information, email addresses and any other information you provided during registration or kept in your character is compromised. Your password is encrypted but we do not know if the hackers are willing to decrypt any of your passwords, I recommend to change your passwords from you email, game accounts, and anything that you want to keep secure. We are in the process of recovering our database and attempt to look for backups that were closer to today's date so we can minimize the rollback caused. The rollback will ultimately affect users whose accounts were created during the time from the beginning of the VPS move to today.

BUT WAIT!.......
After we successfully put the server up, major, once-in-a-life-time events will occur! Please stay tuned as we update this post with more information.

like i understand everything you said except for the part where it says, to "change the password of you e-mail", would that mean they would hack straight to our e-mails? Also, when would the "VPS until today" be exactly? im worried cause i donated about 5days ago and i dont want me money gone -_-

I was saying that they have your encrypted passwords, if they do decrypt it which I can't deny that they won't at all, it should be a good idea to change it.

Your money is safe and is being used for something important to improve the server right now... thanks! Once the server is back up, you may contact Alpha to retrieve your donator status again.

God dammit, i had like 2.5k rb and like alot of msi, ehhh idc ill do it from beginning, i jsut want my donor status and some chix f7 but it wouldn't be bad if we could omsehow get everything back o.o With the best hopes, they just want to fuck with out server and didnt go to the accoutns, onl the vps, we arent for sure though. We can say alot of things, probably anotehr server tried to fuck with us to try to take us down, or maybe one of our own players is trying to kill us. Nothing we can confirm. All this is a unfortunate thing that has happend, and hopefully nothing more will happen, but im geussing this if why the website is down itself. xat is up, its a good sign, also the forums are also alright, but if he was to take down the accoutns, wouldn't he try to take down the forums as well? or maybe tried the forums first? o.o

I has idea. Make chickens and leaves drop for a month anMsi event, And maybe double VP..

So this means i lose all my stuff, my wifey's guild gets deleted and my account and rebirths are all gone if it's even a few days....
